The Casa Ladera is on the low slopes of a pine-clad mountain just
outside the unspoilt coastal town of Jįvea, Costa Blanca, renowned for its
wonderful beaches, good restaurants, golf courses and recreational
facilities. The Villa is positioned directly below a famous cave on the
Montgo mountain known as "The Eye of Montgo". This select, beautiful and
well preserved seaside town is ideal for families and lies 75 minutes drive
from either Alicante or Valencia airport, just off the N7 toll motorway on
the Costa Blanca. Steeped in history, Jįvea is overlooked from the north by
the Montgo mountain, famous for the cave they call it's 'eye'. It is said
locally: 'If you gaze into the eye you will be besotted by the area and will
return year after year'.
The region is known as the "Oasis of Spain", with an abundance of
olive groves, almond trees, citrus fruits, vines and pine forests making the
area green all year, despite the average 300 days of sunshine. Jįvea is a
popular holiday resort and the old town has maintained its' whitewashed
buildings and narrow streets; combined with the nightly fish markets in the
port, Jįvea reflects an unspoilt part of Spain. The long and safe Arenal
sandy beach has a promenade fringed with bars and restaurants. At night,
craft stalls are set up and there are many children's amusements and later
in the evening some of the bars become discos. There are two superb 18-hole
golf courses within 1.5 Km from the villa. The area is magnificent for
walking and there is a wide variety of water and other sports available.
The Villa: Built in the Spanish finca (farmhouse) style, the property
is mainly on one level. The 2500m.sq. plot includes parking for 4 cars;
gardens run along both front and rear of the villa, with exotic palm and
cactus trees. An orchard of orange and lemon trees leads to a full sized
tennis court. There is an 8m x 4m swimming pool with private sunbathing
terraces, plus a well appointed Bar-B-Q with it's own large terraced seating
area.
There are six bedrooms, 1 king en-suite, 2 doubles, and 3 twins, a guest
bathroom, guest shower room, lounge/dining-room with Colour TV (incl. BBC
card) and video, a newly fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer,
micro-wave, and washing machine.
A spacious 'Naya' runs along the South-facing front of the villa and has
traditional 'Tosca' arches; this is where you will find a welcoming cool
evening breeze, and a place to relax with your favourite glass of Rioja (try
the excellent Alicante wines - better value and just as good!). An entrance
from the Naya leads to an L shaped lounge/dining room with an open fire for
winter months. At the right end of the lounge area is the master on-suite
bedroom; to the left of dining area is a newly fitted kitchen and a further
5 bedrooms, bathroom and shower room. All rooms are tastefully furnished and
we trust you will have a peaceful holiday.
