El Cotillo- Fuerteventura

El Cotillo is on the North West Coast of Fuerteventura, which boasts the best beaches on the island and the most magnificent waves for surfing, wind surfing and kite surfing. (Tuition and equipment for hire can all be found in the village). These beaches are on the left of the village whilst on the right, one finds the lagoons and small bays, shallow calm waters, silver white sands perfect for “small people”.

On the edge of this sleepy fishing village, 100 metres from the sea, new harbour and a wide choice of cafes and restaurants stands a stunning pair of homes, architecturally designed to resemble a ship. Each home has from ground to top floor an unusual wooden open plan spiral staircase, with glass bricked areas bringing in extra light.

Fuerteventura is a beautiful island, barren but mountainous, where the changing angle of the sun reflects differing colours and patterns against the landscape.  Temperatures rarely go below 70F by day or higher than 85F in the height of the summer. The homes are on the edge of the village, a few seconds walk to the new harbour, little shops, bars and restaurants. If you stroll it will take you about 20/25 minutes to do the circumference of the village!

Unlike the more popular/touristy resorts of Corralejo, Caleta de Fueste and Nuevo Horizontal, Cotillo is nowhere near the airport flight path, it’s a small, quiet but multi-cultural village. The local people still fish from the village harbour, run the small “Spar- like” supermarkets and all of the restaurants (about 15 of them). 50% or more of the dwellings are Spanish owner/occupied. However, there is the most delicious German owned bakery selling bread and cakes to die for, plus a few other shops, a British owned food supermarket and surf shop. Usually by 11pm the village is asleep, the odd bar may remain open for a while longer.

Cotillo has fantastic beaches for exhilarating swimming in the surf or the shallow warm lagoon beaches ideal for children's’ safe playing and paddling, brilliant water sport facilities and wonderful restaurants to suit all budgets. It really is a holiday paradise destination perfect to totally unwind and de-stress.

House A has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, fully equipped modern kitchen/diner, a separate lounge with balcony and roof terrace for private sun bathing, panoramic views of the sea, (perfect for catching the sunset), the village and the surrounding countryside (ideal for watching the sunrise).

House B has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, (one very large with sunken bath) a separate spacious lounge, and a fully equipped kitchen/dining room with balcony and a very large roof terrace with views as house A.

Both homes have satellite TV, washing machines and other home comforts. Car hire not essential but fairly useful.
