Los Balcoes, Torrevieja. Torrevieja is situated on the coast at the southern end of the Valencian community, and offers sun, warmth, beaches & golf all year round; the climate is dry with average winter temps of 15c to 22c rising to 35c in summer. It is squeezed between the Mediterranean Sea and the “Salterns of Torrevieja” which are two natural saltwater lakes considered to be the largest in Europe. It is these lakes from which the local inhabitants harvest salt and which gives the area a very pleasant microclimate. Indeed the area is known as the “California of Europe” and the World Health Organisation states that this area is “the healthiest place in the world to live”. On average there are 320 days of sunshine each year. For golfers, beach fans, and outdoor enthusiasts alike the winter climate is superb. Most beaches have a blue flag and range from rocky coves to town beaches to huge expanses of dunes. The area around Torrevieja is predominately agricultural with acres of orange and lemon groves together with market gardening. It is also a major fishing port where the fish for which the Costa Blanca is famous is landed daily. Further a field but all within about 1 hours driving can found the communities of Alicante (capital of the province), Elche (famous for its Palm Trees), Murcia (“Garden of Spain”), Cartegena (Naval port), the Crevillente mountains (for walking and hiking) and Benidorm (now complete with world class attractions).
The property is fully equipped, 6 bedded, 2 bathrooms, with car parking, large bedroom terrace and full size roof solarium, is new and located some 10mins drive away from the town of Torrevieja, just 35 minutes from Alicante and Murcia airports,10/15mins. to beaches and golf courses. The mountains are 30mins. away. The house is semi-detached and part of a block of 4, with a southerly aspect ensuring fine sunbathing in the winter, whilst to the North are views of the Laguna de Torrevieja (Pink Lake). A supermarket is located approx. 5 minutes walk away whilst the 2 large swimming pool/garden areas are but a few minutes away.
