Cala d’Or is a family-friendly resort on the southeast coast of Majorca - attractive, low-key and relaxing, with the Es Forti area being quiet and convenient. It is a 5-minute stroll to the local sandy beach and 10 minutes to an excellent supermarket. Central Cala d’Or and its popular marina are 5 minutes by car. Local taxis are readily available, and tourist mini trains operate during the day. There is a good choice of restaurants and bars a short walk away. Both the Cala Llonga marina and central Cala d’Or offer a huge choice of places to eat, from cheap and cheerful to haute cuisine. There are also clubs and discos in the centre. A number of fantastic beaches are close by, notably Cala Mondrago, and the pretty fishing village of Porto Petro is a mile or so away.

It is a 1 to 1½ hour drive from Palma airport (65km). Finding a taxi is easy, but many car hire companies are represented at the airport; you will probably need a car if you wish to explore this very pretty island. Palma is a beautiful old city with a cathedral, castle and bustling, narrow lanes full of interesting shops. You can drive round the island in a (long!) day, seeing magnificent golden beaches, spectacular mountain scenery in the northwest and such gems as Deia and the monastery at Valdemosa along the way. You can scuba dive off the coast and there are countless beautiful walks. The caves at Drax are world-famous. There are water sports at most resorts.

The apartment sleeps 4 comfortably and has recently been refurbished. It is on the first floor and has a stunning sea view. The building has three storeys with four apartments and a penthouse, which share the swimming pool. This is at the rear of the building in private gardens. The building is on a quiet road with only a row of lovely villas between it and the sea.

The spacious living/dining room is fully furnished and has a fireplace plus there are full width patio doors opening onto the large, sunny balcony. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. Both twin bedrooms have built-in traditional-style wardrobes. The bathroom has a shower over the bath with a glass shower screen. The apartment is cleaned by a local lady, and bed linen and towels are provided.
